Program RI-Africa (Responsible Innovation for Africa)

Support innovative AI projects that contribute to solving certain socio-economic challenges in Africa, taking into account ethics and responsibility. Encourage advanced research in AI to improve quality of life and stimulate innovation.

Program Aware-Africa

Evaluate the impacts of AI in Africa through studies and propose policies for responsible use. Raise awareness among the general public, decision-makers, businesses and civil society associations of ethical issues, such as transparency, accountability, inclusion, and protection of privacy.

Our goals

FRIARE wants to promote responsible and efficient artificial intelligence in Africa, with a view to contributing to the construction of a sustainable future for future generations. Four specific objectives:

Specific objective 1

Promote research and development of advanced artificial intelligence technologies in Africa, in collaboration with local and international partners, to improve quality of life and drive innovation.

Specific objective 2

Support innovative initiatives and projects that use artificial intelligence to address socio-economic challenges in Africa, while looking at the ethical and responsibility issues of the technologies developed.

Specific objective 3

Raise awareness among the general public, policy makers, businesses and NGOs about ethical and social issues related to artificial intelligence, such as transparency, accountability, inclusion and privacy protection.

Specific objective 4

Assess the impacts of artificial intelligence on African society by conducting impact studies and proposing appropriate action levers to ensure responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence in Africa.
